Resource extraction within areas that have significant terrain features is a not uncommon landscape alteration. Often within areas dominated by forested habitats, these alterations are often a visible alteration to the natural landscape. When do these types of landscape alterations become more than just a visual alteration and become a societal/environmental issue that requires input from the general public?
